Cherryville, NC (WNN)- The list of 2025 All Conference football players for the Southern Piedmont 2A/3A/4A includes five Cherryville High School Ironmen. Now that state football champions have been crowned, the last of the Fall sports all-conference selections have been announced. This season saw the return of competitive football to Cherryville, and these young men played key roles in achieving this accomplishment. CHS played well in a very tough conference and advanced to the second round of the NCHSAA playoffs. The Ironmen are making the all-conference selection, along with some of their statistics.
55 Sophomore Maddox Carrigan OL/LB – He was an anchor on the offensive line, making key blocks to open running lanes for the running backs and protecting the quarterback. Maddox was one of many players who played both on offense and defense this season. Carrigan was not only outstanding on offense, but he was also a force on defense. He made 27 solo and 49 total tackles. He averaged 6.1 tackles per game.
46 Senior Talon Dalton WR/DB – This young man produced contributions on both sides of the ball. He turned in key plays on offense in critical drives and made an impact on defense as well. Defensively, he made 13 tackles, four solo, and had one interception.

6 Junior Javarius J.J. McElhaney WR/RB/CB – JJ had his name called often during games for outstanding plays and contributions. He was forced into a bigger offensive role after Jackson Heavner went out with injuries. He met the challenge admirably. As a defensive player, he made two interceptions and 11 solo tackles. As a punt returner, JJ averaged 18.2 yards per return for a total of 91 yards. McElhaney rushed for 606 yards on 84 carries and scored 11 touchdowns on the ground. As a wide receiver, he scored three touchdowns, gaining 248 yards on 12 receptions.
11 Junior Elijah Proctor WR/OLB – Elijah was tremendous on both offense and defense. He had a knack for finding the ball. His 26 solo and 35 total tackles held many teams’ offense in check. He also added two interceptions. As an offensive player, Proctor averaged 16.1 yards receiving per game, scoring one receiving touchdown and rushing for two other scores. He made many receptions that extended drives that do not show up in a stat line.

9 Junior Landry Pruett OLB/QB/RB – As with the other four Ironmen all-conference selections, Landry also played multiple positions on both offense and defense. He played more snaps on defense than offense, yet still saw plenty of action at several positions. His biggest contributions came on defense. He is credited with one sack of the quarterback and averaged 4.3 tackles per game. In all, he had 21 solo and 39 total tackles.
These were not the only key players on the 2025 Ironmen roster; however, there is a limited number of all-conference selections that can be made. This team fared well in a multi-classification conference that consists mostly of larger schools. This year’s team outperformed expectations, and as Coach Patrick Bowman guides them into his third season, 2026 should be an exciting season for Ironmen football. Once again, congratulations to these five young men on their recognition for an incredible season.
