Green Park Inn Dismantling Continues

Blowing Rock History Preserved?

Posted

Blowing Rock, NC (WNN)—The Green Park Inn in Blowing Rock, NC, has been slowly dismantled over the past few months to resurrect a more up-to-date facility. The iconic hotel, built in the 1880s and first opened in 1891, has been a staple structure of the Blowing Rock area. The Inn has housed two U.S. presidents, Coolidge and Hoover, and even some of the "Gone with the Wind" movie was written there. The careful dismantling of the wooden structure aims to preserve and reuse some features and even keep the lobby area, if possible.  The final project will include a 40-room hotel,  wedding space, restaurant, 12 condos, and 8 rental cottages at the 9239 Valley Blvd location.  Check out this article's Green Park Inn picture gallery above taken on August 31st, 2025!
