Cherryville, NC (WNN) - It is evident that a city is growing when new businesses pop up all over town. This one just happens to be located off of North Mountain Street in Cherryville, NC, in a spot some may not have realized existed. Located underneath the back deck of the 5 Spur Steakhouse, Godsend Technology Services LLC, a female-owned local repair shop, has opened for business.
Business co-owner Michael Greco had always shown interest in the tech field. The name came to him 13 years ago, when he was trying to start an app development company. Then while repairing computers, he heard “You’re a godsend!” so often that he decided to stick with the name. However, taking the next step into small business ownership proved challenging. The name also leans into Greco’s faith, although when he initially felt he was being pushed towards it, his answer was “yeah, right.” Despite his reluctance, other plans were in store for him, as a bump in the road at his job led him to pursue his idea.
With his wife, Tonya Greco, the pair officially opened at a different location on Main Street. While they did enjoy the initial space, future plans for the business required some leg room. With Tonya, the primary owner, handling the business and marketing, and Michael providing the repair expertise, they started their venture. “Everything just started falling into place,” Greco noted while he discussed the process. The couple was able to attain grants and work with local realtors to find the new spot, which made them feel like it was meant to be.
As stated, opening the company was just the start for the Grecos. The shift between the two locations took about four months. Their current location was a storage space previously used by other businesses. The couple plans on remodeling as their shop continues to grow. The best feature of the new space is that, with all the extra room, they will be able to expand and hire additional employees in the future.
Greco hosts plenty of talent, with their opening-week special being virus removal for $50 per device. Greco attended school for Windows systems and has worked on almost anything related to them, such as HP and Dell. He can also fully build gaming or work desktop computers upon request. The company also takes printer repair jobs, as Greco used to be a service technician for them back in the day. He is also willing to take on 3D printer repair jobs. The services are not limited to the shop; Greco is ready to visit homes or businesses when needed. This home and business service is not limited to repairs, with internet troubleshooting and setup also being offered.
Of course, he feels a driving business factor will be screen repair for phones and tablets. He is currently seeking additional certifications to ensure his work on these devices. He also hopes to become an Apple-certified technician, which would give him access to work on all Apple ecosystem devices.
To drop in and pay the couple a visit, head to 115 E Main St, Suite B, Cherryville, NC 28021. This is located in the back street parking underneath the 5-Sour Steakhouse’s back deck.
