Gastonia, NC (WNN) - On Tuesday, February 3rd, the Gaston County Police Department announced that more than half a million dollars was discovered in the back of a semi-truck.
According to reports, the tractor-trailer was pulled over on Interstate 85 for traffic violations. During the stop, a K9 unit alerted the officers, prompting them to search. This led to the discovery of the money concealed inside cargo items. Investigators believe the money is tied to drug trafficking.
After speaking with the driver, the police determined he was not involved in the operation.
